This work is about artificial perspective, pre digested images of city and landscape broken down and streamlined through from and color contained and outlined by the human figure. With this blended I am interested in finding ways to express desires that stem out of my own personal struggles with both places.
The space and structure are not used to sustain a specific drawing, but to explore the ambiguities between concrete and nature, as they relate to the figure, to abstraction and to a spiritual struggle as well. Still debating, and scheming with the possibilities for gain or loss, just as we deal with risk in life, the pieces intend to carry out calculated gestures in which abstraction and figuration are no longer separate poles.
